Unofficial Ballot Returns – November 4, 2008 General Election – Oregon
I will be dropping off my ballot tomorrow, most likely, at which point I will become a statistic. *pleased*
#2: Copied from a comment I made here: "Some day, when I have time and infinite money, I want to devise something like Oh No Robot (comic strip transcription thing) for online videos and podcasts. Maybe a wiki or something, so that anyone can contribute easily."
For example, Amanda at Pandagon posted a video in this post. So you you grab the URL from the YouTube video and plug it in at The Site(r). It grabs the video ID from the URL and redirects you to a page that has the current transcript for that video. If there's no transcript, you can create one, &c &c.
(For Vimeo videos, you can right-click on the title to copy the link. Hulu I don't know, I can't get videos to load for that one. Google Video, you can go to the GV page directly, then copy the URL.)
Hrm.

(Should be SFW, unless your workplace has a problem with comic book women.)
I have a happy-on for Leonard Nimoy and Stephen Colbert, damn.
Colbert interviews Nimoy about his book about the Full Body Project. (Images at the second link are not SFW.)
At 2:50, I die of squee. I die. Of squee.
At 3:05, Nimoy refers to Marcel Duchamp's Nude Descending a Staircase. The picture is SFW; it's… ah… Cubist, -ish, from what I can tell.
The comparison at 3:30 is to Matisse's The Dance. 920×607, probably not SFW.
And then I descend back into inarticulance.

* Jessica at Feministing posts a YouTube link: Practical joke show "rapes" mom to terrorize daughter. As someone said at Feministing, "Oh good. I think rape hasn't been funny enough in the past. This sort of humor is just what we need." This is truly vile, and is not helping humanity's case any.
